the elephant in the room - literally!

A couple of new poems that I submitted to the Australian Writer's Center competition today. They had to be based on the image you see - hence the post title! Oh and they had to be no more than 23 words. . .

Elephants
In the house?
No. Ridiculous.
But here you are,
Smiling,
Looking like you live here.
Just please don’t sit on the lounge!

​Me: ‘You’re big!’
Elephant: ‘Yep.’
Me: ‘Why’re you smiling?’
Elephant: ‘Because you have to figure a way to get me out of here!’
